For the past nine years, Brenden Ward has built his experience in Vancouver Island’s Special Projects market, developing a reputation for a calm, organized approach to complex work in occupied and highly controlled environments.
Leading Blackrete’s Special Projects division, Brenden and his team have built strong momentum in 2026, securing 20 projects year to date. That work includes projects with clients such as the Department of National Defence (DND) and Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority), reflecting the trust the team continues to build across the region.
Brenden’s experience spans healthcare, defence, and institutional projects, with expertise in infection control and ICRA compliance, mechanical and structural upgrades, public procurement, preconstruction, and value optimization. His project background includes multi-phase work in active hospital environments, energy and security upgrades for DND facilities, and accelerated institutional renovations.
A Red Seal certified professional and Gold Seal Certified construction leader, Brenden combines practical field experience with thoughtful planning and a strong focus on client relationships. Colleagues value his ability to bring structure to complex projects, work collaboratively with project teams, and keep the focus on delivering the right outcome for the client.
